Balsamand Lake, Jodhpur, Rajasthan
Balsamand Lake is an artificial lake was built in 1159 AD. This waster reservoir to provide water to Mandore. Balsamand Lake has a length of 1 km, depth of 15 m and breadth of 50 m. It is situated just seven kilometres away from the heart of Jodhpur city. Lush green gardens, a bunch of trees like mango, pomegranate, guava and plum etc makes this place more fascinating that can draws the attention of the tourists very easily. Moreover, one can find several animals and birds like jackal and peacock along with their chirping voices.
Here is a Famous Raj Ranchhodji Temple is one of the old temple built by the use of red sandstone, that is located in Jodhpur, This temple is built by Queen Jadechi Rajkanwar, After the death of queen Jadechi Rajkanwar's husband (Raj Ranchhodji). Inside the temple there is a statue of Raj Ranchhodji. Wall of the temple is carvings with beautiful filigree work on the stone adorning.
